Medicos JJBA Stone Ocean Jotaro Kujo Figure Review: A Collector's Dream

When it comes to high-quality anime figures, Medicos Entertainment has long been a name synonymous with precision and passion, especially for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fans. The Stone Ocean arc brought a fresh look for Jotaro Kujo, and Medicos has captured that with their latest release. In this review, we'll break down every aspect of the Medicos JJBA Stone Ocean Jotaro Kujo figure, from sculpt to articulation, to help you decide if it's worth adding to your collection.

As a devoted JoJo collector, you know that each figure release is an event. The Stone Ocean Jotaro is particularly anticipated because it represents a pivotal moment in the series. But does it live up to the hype? Let's dive into the details and see if this figure deserves a spot on your shelf.

Sculpt and Detail: A Faithful Representation

The first thing you'll notice about the Medicos Stone Ocean Jotaro is the incredible attention to detail. The sculpt captures Jotaro's mature look from Part 6, with his longer hair and more defined facial features. The iconic hat is seamlessly integrated into his hair, just as in the manga, and the shading on his coat adds depth that makes the figure pop.

Medicos has always excelled at capturing the unique art style of Hirohiko Araki, and this figure is no exception. The proportions are spot-on, and the paint application is clean with no noticeable bleeding. The subtle gradient on his coat and the metallic sheen on his belt buckle show the quality you'd expect from a premium figure.

When comparing to other figures in your collection, like the Banpresto DXF One Punch Man Genos Figure, the difference in detail is clear. Medicos invests in the finer points, making this Jotaro a standout piece.

• Accurate manga-inspired sculpt with intricate shading
• Clean paint application with no defects
• Iconic hat and hair integration done perfectly

Articulation and Posability

For a figure that's primarily meant for display, the articulation is surprisingly good. Jotaro features multiple points of articulation, including his neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hips. This allows you to recreate some of his iconic poses, like his signature point or his stand battle stance.

The joints are tight and hold their position well, which is crucial for dynamic poses. However, the coat does restrict some movement, particularly in the arms. But that's a minor trade-off for the accurate look. The included alternate hands and face plates add to the posability, letting you customize the figure to your liking.

If you're a fan of posing your figures, you'll appreciate the thought that went into the joint design. It's not as flexible as a Figma, but it's more than enough for most display purposes.

• Multiple points of articulation for dynamic poses
• Tight joints that hold poses securely
• Includes alternate hands and face plates for customization

Packaging and Accessories

Medicos always delivers impressive packaging, and this figure is no exception. The box features striking artwork of Jotaro in his Stone Ocean outfit, with a clear window to showcase the figure inside. The back of the box shows the various poses and accessories, giving you a preview of what's included.

In the box, you'll find the figure, two alternate face plates (a serious expression and a smirking one), and three sets of hands (fists, pointing, and relaxed). There's also a small stand that helps with balance, though it's not necessary for most poses. The accessories are easy to swap, and the face plates fit securely without any gaps.

Compared to other figures in the same price range, like the Cutie1 Fist of the North Star Toki Chibi Figure, the accessories are more substantial and add to the overall value.

• Stunning box art with window display
• Includes 2 face plates and 3 hand sets
• Stable stand included for balance

Price and Value: Is It Worth It?

The Medicos Stone Ocean Jotaro figure is priced in the mid-to-high range for anime figures, typically around $80-$100. For that price, you're getting a high-quality collectible with excellent sculpt and articulation. When you compare it to other figures on the market, like the JoJo Golden Wind Hitman Team Figures Bandai Ichiban Set, which offers multiple figures for a similar price, the value proposition is different.

However, if you're a dedicated JoJo fan, this Jotaro is a must-have. The attention to detail and the rarity of Stone Ocean figures make it a worthy investment. Plus, it's a great centerpiece for any JoJo collection, especially when paired with other Medicos releases.

If you're on the fence, consider your collection goals. If you focus on quality over quantity, this figure is a solid choice. If you're looking to expand your collection with more characters, you might want to consider a set like the Hitman Team figures. But for Jotaro fans, this is the definitive version.

• Mid-to-high price range reflects premium quality
• Rare Stone Ocean representation adds collector value
• Great centerpiece for JoJo displays

In conclusion, the Medicos JJBA Stone Ocean Jotaro Kujo figure is a fantastic addition to any JoJo collection. With its impeccable sculpt, decent articulation, and thoughtful accessories, it delivers on all fronts. While the price may be a bit steep, the quality justifies it. If you're a fan of Jotaro or the Stone Ocean arc, this figure is definitely worth picking up. Don't miss out on adding this iconic character to your shelf.
